Event Description:
GCC's second annual Social Justice Day will kickoff with the communal making of a mosaic with Art Force 5 from Alfred University and keynote speech by John F. Kennedy Humanitarian award winner Librada Paz in the Forum from 12:30-2 pm. Break out sessions will follow in the Conable Technology building and will include the following topics:
- Creativity over Conflict with Dan Napolitano of Alfred University
- Social Justice Work and Migrant Workers: Past, Present and Future presented by members of the Geneseo Migrant Center
- Know your Rights with Criminal Justice professor Karen Wicka
- Being an Ally to People of Color with student president of the Political Club Dennis Austen
- Bail Reform and it's Impact presented by Catherine Uhly from Genesee Justice
- Sexual Assault Victim's Rights with Restore representatives
- Veteran's Rights with Dave Oliver and student presenters
