Breaks & Closings

The Residence Halls close for Thanksgiving break, Winter break, Spring break, and Summer. If you are an international student or have a GCC related obligation requiring you to stay past the closing date, contact your advisor, coach, or supervisor to discuss your housing needs for break periods. End of Year Closing, Summer Session & Graduation

  • Residence Halls CLOSE Wednesday May 13, 2020 at 5:00pm
  • If you are enrolled in summer classes, email collegevillage@genesee.edufor information about Summer Housing
  • Those registered to participate in the Graduation ceremony must check their GCC student email for important information about staying on campus, and check-out following the ceremony

(NO: You may NOT leave your things in your apartment over the summer)

Summer Session

All residents are expected to move-out of their apartments for the summer. Summer housing is available to students enrolled in GCC summer classes at an additional cost but it may be in a different apartment than the one they stayed in previously. For rates, contact the College Village office at 585-343-0163 or email collegevillage@genesee.edu for more information.

If you cannot bring all of your possessions home over summer break, it is recommended that you find a local storage container facility for that period or bring any good condition appliances, items, or non-perishable foods to the SWAP SHOP in the Root, available during the month of May.
