Save The Date

Written by Caity-Shea Violette

Hours from her wedding, Andrea meets her estranged lover in their park. A tug-of-war between passion and timing, they explore the expiration date of "the one that got away".

Sister

Written by Kita Mehaffy

When Andréa, down on her luck, sees Alex in the park early one Sunday morning, she hopes to find the humanity in a woman who had previously looked right through her. Andréa even tries to prompt her as to their previous face-to-face, but to no avail. Alex only sees what she wants to see while Andréa responds with the agitated violence of frustration. Andréa can't help it. Sometimes being invisible wears on a girl.

Summer Storms

Written by Jaisey Bates

Combines before 'the worst shooting in u.s. history,' 'they were dancing,' and 'i had a dream but now i'm woke'. Why these words: Summer 2016 waking horror dreams led to this gathering of words in support of mutual healing, strengthened community and positive change. That we might build with our joined words an enduring shelter from such storms. That we might write a new story worthy of our children, our children's children. That we might learn, in the precious few moments we are gifted, to walk together in beauty this beloved ground.
