Dutchman by LeRoi Jones

Genesee Community College’s Department of Theatre Arts and The Forum Players are presenting LeRoi Jones’ play, Dutchman, this February as part of their 2025-2026 theatrical programming. Dutchman was first presented Off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theatre in Greenwich Village, New York City, in March 1964 co-produced by Rita Fredricks. The play was turned into a film in 1967, starring Shirley Knight and Al Freeman Jr. The play will be performed on February 26 & 27 at 7:30pm.

This Tony-nominated play upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan). A wildly theatrical adaptation featuring over a dozen actors portraying more than 100 unforgettable characters, Peter and The Starcatcher uses ingenious stagecraft and the limitless possibilities of imagination to bring the story to life.

15th Annual Student Photo Contest

Join us for the 15th Annual Student Photo Contest reception, sponsored by the Alfred C. O'Connell Library. We will celebrate the students' achievements, and honor winners in 6 different categories. This year the reception will be held in the Rosalie "Roz" Steiner Art Gallery in the Center for the Arts building. The awards ceremony will start at 12:45pm. All are welcome to attend!
